How a Charter Price Is Built

Most of a charter price comes from hours in the air, and those hours come from the aircraft you choose and the route you fly. A handful of other items raise or lower the total. These are the pieces we weigh when putting your all-inclusive quote together.

Your estimate starts from your real dates, passenger count and airports, and we go through it item by item with you by phone. When plans shift, we price the trip again before anything is reserved.

Size of aircraft
Per hour, a turboprop uses much less fuel than a heavy jet, and its rate shows it. Booking the smallest cabin that still holds your group and luggage comfortably does more to lower the price than anything else.
Route and distance
A longer trip costs more, and upper-level winds play a part as well. Heading west into a stiff headwind can take clearly longer than the same flight going east, so every leg gets its own price.
Aircraft's starting point
When the nearest fitting aircraft sits at another base, flying it to your airport adds time. Because we price point to point, you are not billed for it flying home empty once you land.
Crew nights away
A trip lasting several days keeps the crew away from base, and federal duty limits call for rest between long days. The crew's hotel and per-diem are already in the quote, not added afterward.
Time of year
Fewer aircraft are free on holiday weekends and major event dates. On cold winter mornings, de-icing fluid before takeoff can raise the cost, and we set aside an amount for it when the forecast points that way.
Airport charges and taxes
Landing fees, FBO handling, segment fees and federal excise tax differ from one airport to the next. Each one appears on the quote, so you can trace every dollar.

Aircraft for Every Kind of Trip

The right aircraft depends on three numbers: passengers, distance and the runway at the other end. Turboprop charter suits short regional hops and smaller fields, while light jet charter covers most business trips under about three hours for a handful of passengers. Midsize and super-midsize jet charter add a stand-up cabin and the range for coast-to-coast flights, and heavy jet charter handles large groups and long overwater legs. Empty leg flights are repositioning trips we can offer at a lower rate when your timing matches the aircraft's route.

  • Traveler with a rolling bag looks toward a white T-tail light jet with its airstair open on an airport ramp beside a yellow taxi line, wooded mountains behind

    Light Jet Charter

Four to seven passengers, trips of roughly one to three hours, and an all-inclusive quote priced one way, point to point.

  • Woman seen from behind adjusting a cream leather club seat inside a private jet cabin with oval windows, four facing seats and a carpeted aisle

    Midsize Jet Charter

A roomier cabin, an enclosed lavatory and range for most US trips nonstop, ideal when a light jet feels tight or would need a fuel stop.

  • Man in a dark jacket wiping a polished wood-veneer ledge inside a business jet cabin with cream leather club seats lining a carpeted aisle

    Super-Midsize Jet Charter

Stand-up cabin, flat floor and the range to reach either coast nonstop, for groups of up to about nine who want to skip the fuel stop.

  • Nose of a large white business jet with twin-wheel nose gear and a lowered, lit airstair, parked on an airport ramp at dusk beside a hangar

    Heavy Jet Charter

Large-cabin jets for big groups and nonstop long-haul flights, sourced from well-kept aircraft and priced point to point.

  • Ground crew member in ear protection watches from a hangar door as a white light jet taxis toward him with landing lights on at sunset

    Empty Leg Flights

Fly one way on an aircraft that is already repositioning, often at a lower rate, when your dates and route can flex around its departure.

How We Work With Repeat Travelers

Most of our clients fly more than once. We set up the first trip carefully so every trip after it starts with less work for you.

  1. 01

A trip file that carries forward

We keep your passenger names, pet details, catering preferences and preferred FBO on file. The next time you call, we confirm what changed instead of starting over, which makes a repeat booking much quicker than the first.

  2. 02

We ask about the aircraft, not just the price

Before we quote an aircraft, we ask the operator about its upcoming inspection schedule and recent mechanical history. An airframe close to a scheduled inspection can be pulled from service on short notice, and we would rather steer you to one that is clear for your dates.

  3. 03

    Quotes that include everything

Fuel, crew, landing and handling fees, federal excise tax and overnight costs are built into the figure we give you. No hidden costs show up on an invoice after you land.

  4. 04

    No programs to join

There are no long term commitments, no deposits sitting in an account and no annual fees. You book a flight when you need one and that is the end of it.

  5. 05

    Someone answers at odd hours

Meetings move and family plans change late at night. We take calls around the clock, so a changed departure time can be worked on right away.

From First Call to Wheels Up

Booking a charter takes a few short conversations. Here is how a typical trip comes together.

  1. 1

    Tell us the trip

Call with your departure and destination, dates, number of passengers and any pets or oversized bags. If you have a preferred FBO or arrival time, mention it now.

  2. 2

We match aircraft and price it

We check availability across operators, compare cabin size, range and runway needs, and ask about each aircraft's inspection status. Then we give you an all-inclusive quote on one or two options by phone.

  3. 3

    Confirm and finalize details

Once you choose, we lock the aircraft and confirm passenger names, catering, ground transport and WIFI needs. You get the FBO location and departure time well ahead of the flight.

  4. 4

    Flight day

Arrive at the FBO a short time before departure, skip the terminal lines and board with your bags and pets. The crew handles the rest.

  5. 5

    We update your file

After you land, we note what worked and what you would change. That record shapes the next quote we build for you.

Questions We Hear Most Often

Something not covered here? (317) 350-1382

What does an all-inclusive quote cover?

Your price includes the aircraft, crew, fuel, positioning, landing and FBO handling fees, federal excise tax and crew overnights. Catering or ground transport, if you want them, are added and shown on the quote before you say yes. No charges appear after you land.

Will I be charged for a return flight on a one-way trip?

No. We price point to point, so one-way travel is never charged at round trip pricing. If the aircraft must fly over to pick you up, that time is part of your quote, but its empty trip home is not.

Is there a block of hours or an upfront payment to make?

No. You join nothing, prepay no hours and sign no long term commitments. Call when you need to travel and book just that flight.

Can my pets fly with me?

Yes, pets are allowed. Let us know the number and size of your animals on the call, and we will choose an aircraft and operator that suit them and arrange space for a crate if you need one.

Is internet available in the air?

You can book WIFI equipped aircraft. Connection type and speed vary from one system to another, so tell us if you expect to be on video calls and we will confirm the aircraft can support them.

What happens if the aircraft has a mechanical problem?

Mechanical insurance covers up to 100% of what a replacement flight costs. If an aircraft is grounded, we begin searching for a substitute right away so you can still travel. Checking inspection status before booking helps keep this from happening.

How late can I book a flight?

We answer the phone 24/7, and we can often arrange a same-day departure when an aircraft and crew are available. Calling sooner gives you more aircraft to choose from, especially around holidays.

What is an empty leg flight?

It is a trip the aircraft has to fly anyway, such as returning to base after dropping off passengers. The price can be lower than a regular charter, though the route and timing follow the original booking. Ask about them if your plans have some give.

About Private Jet Charter Greenwood

We are a charter broker working from our office in Greenwood, Indiana, and by phone and video with travelers across the region. Our job is to find the right aircraft for each flight, price it honestly and keep the details straight from booking to landing.

We built the company around clients who come back. That means paying attention to the parts of a trip that are easy to overlook: whether an aircraft is near a scheduled inspection, whether a runway is long enough on a hot July afternoon, and whether a family's dog needs a window seat. Getting those right once makes every later trip simpler.
