Where an aircraft is parked matters less to us than how it is cared for. What moves the cost of a midsize charter
Midsize jets are priced mainly by flight time, so distance is the biggest driver. The rest comes down to where the aircraft starts, how long the crew waits and the airports you use. Your quote spells out each piece before you commit.
- Positioning
- If the nearest suitable jet is based elsewhere, the flight to pick you up is part of the cost. An aircraft already nearby, or an empty leg heading your way, can lower it.
- Overnight and wait time
- Multi-day trips add crew lodging and daily fees. Same-day returns avoid most of that.
- Airport and seasonal costs
- Landing and FBO fees vary by field. In an Indiana winter, de-icing fluid can add a line item on cold mornings.
- Aircraft model and age
- Newer or recently refurbished midsize jets often carry a higher hourly rate. A well-maintained older Hawker or Learjet can be a smart value.

How many passengers does a midsize jet hold?
Seven to nine on most, based on the model and how the cabin is laid out. On longer trips we generally recommend seven adults at most when everyone has full luggage. Bigger groups are more comfortable in a super-midsize or heavy jet.
Will a midsize jet get to the West Coast without stopping?
In many cases. Longer-range types such as the Hawker 800XP or Learjet 60 make it with room to spare, but an XLS-type jet might need to refuel when winter headwinds are strong. We look at the forecast winds before quoting.
Who is at the controls?
The operating carrier's crew flies the jet; we do not. Our part is arranging the trip and reviewing the operator, the aircraft and its maintenance standing before recommending it. You learn the operator's name before booking, and the tail number on request.
Is my dog welcome?
Yes, pets are allowed. Tell us how many animals and their size on the call, and we will check the operator's cabin rules in advance.
Is there a long-term contract?
No, there are no long term commitments. Each trip is booked by itself, and you pay only for that one.
